SCHOOL MEALS 2 PANTRIES
PARTNERING NYC SCHOOLS WITH NEIGHBORHOOD PANTRIES TO COMBAT FOOD INSECURITY
Our WORK
NYC is experiencing the greatest challenge of food insecurity since the Great Depression. We want to help our neighbors in need - so we've established a partnership between schools and neighborhood food pantries to help facilitate the current DOE program to provide free meals to those in need.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
HOW WE HELP
Our team of volunteers picks up a prearranged set of prepared and packaged meals from local schools provided by the DOE’s Office of Nutrition and Food Services. Our team of volunteers then delivers the meals to our partnering neighborhood pantries that are stressed by the increased number of clients during the Covid-19 pandemic. We are expanding so we need more help! Please consider volunteering to make an impact in your local neighborhood.
WHO WE ARE
School Meals 2 Pantries is 100% volunteer-based! It was started by Bernard Winter, a newly retired school teacher, and has grown to over 15 volunteers. If you want to help please reach out to us today and start making a difference in your neighborhood. We are currently looking for help on the Upper West Side.
